I have just finished weaving in the edge of my first finished rag rug. I’ve
used the woven weft protector on page 10 of the book “Finishes in the Ethnic
Tradition”. I’m just a little concerned about the last few warp ends that
aren’t really woven in when you get to the end of the rug. How do you go
about making sure they are secure?

Once I get that part figured out I plan to wash the rug and dry it flat, and
then deal with trimming the warp ends that are sticking out along that woven
edge. How close can you trim them? Since each warp end is woven through
the next four is it safe to trim it off so that you can no longer see the
excess?
